Snowdrops in November?!!

The first signs of spring are here before winter is even upon us - a bit strange? There have also been reports of Primroses in full bloom in the local area as well. Here's a couple of pics (Just to confirm it!)

Nice Weather?

What a fab day yesterday. Keep an eye out for the new films on the website in a couple of weeks - went filming yesterday, got great shots of a buzzard and a bullfinch. It was the squirrels that stole the show, though!
Autumn/Winter is the perfect time for birdspotting as the lack of leaves makes the task easier. You may encounter Fieldfares and Redwings, our winter visitors - they're very shy, but you can usually find them feasting on berry bushes.

Keep birdwatching!

Bullfinches

Female Bullfinch - I havn't seen one of these for years! they seem to love the hawthorn berries. Keep an eye out for them in their small flocks grabbing berries from the tops of trees. The female bullfinch has a very pale coloured chest (above) compared to the male, which has a bright rosy chest - unmistakable!
Might see some at the weekend - that's if the rain ever stops!!! Maybe we might have some unusual migrants blown in like the Wilson's Phalarope that was spotted in Slimbridge this week. I doubt we'll have any of those here!

Keep those eyes peeled peeps!
